Meet Missy

I am Missy.
I have been told, often, that there is no real way to describe me, because I seem to be somewhat... Unique. It is a compliment and achievement in my book. Admittedly, I think differently than others usually do and I tend to push limits, stretch rules, and wear a lot of bright colors, a lot.

I will attempt to let you know a little of what I think, I've learned about myself.

Communication is very important to me. In all it's wonderful forms.
I am a very friendly person.
     I am pretty open minded.
I love most people. The other two I really try to like.
     I love learning.
Inside I am a world traveler as well as an adventurer. Outside I am a adventurer of the stay-at-home variety.

I prefer words to be spoken. (I do speak really a lot- My Mom always told me I "was born with a whole lot of words needing to get out". That is a nice way of saying I'm a jabber-box. I have apparently never outgrown that). I enjoy writing as well as reading. Because words in either of these forms have the ability to communicate on many levels.
Shyness has never been a problem for me, in fact I am usually quite bold. I also can be quit opinionated, though I try not to share it unless asked.
Talking mixed with friendliness helps me easily meet new people.
This comfortable familiarity appears to help me be easy to talk to. I seem to have always been one of those people you can talk to about anything, anywhere, anytime, knowing your confidences are safe. I can not count the times throughout my life that I have heard people tell me things like, "I have told you things I have never told another living soul.",  That is a big responsibility.  I take it very seriously. Regardless of whether we are really good old friends or new old friends, or possibly strangers standing in the hat section at the Wal-Mart, or passing in a parking lot... I always try to hear and validate other's. I know it is a gift and blessing for both of us, that we cross paths.

My first experience beyond they baby-sitting days of youth, include, but are not limited to, an aide in a Nursing Home, at age sixteen. I loved this job and the people. I have dipped a whole lot of ice cream at Casper's.  Done piece work and night shift supervising at a sewing factory. Loved being an Educational Sign Language Interpreter for the Great State of Utah, as well as being a teachers aide, substitute teacher and teacher.  I was privileged to work for my church in that capacity as well.  I have spent wonderful  times as an in home care giver, of all ages.  Moon lighting at a mortuary is a current favorite experience. It took more time for me to embrace my lifelong abilities of helping people move blocked energy in their lives. People think I'm a little weird, sometimes, when I tell them that I do holistic energy work.
Weaved among these and other careers I have loved and hated, has been the most rewarding experiences of being a wife, married to my High School Sweetheart for 38years.  Mother of my best friends and teachers. Grandmother of the most amazing and wonderful people in the world, some close, some far, each loved to the moon and back!

Photography is a passion that has been with me forever and opened up to me during the challenging days my 'Empty-nest' exposure. I think no one can have to many photographs. Self taught and husband encouraged I have amassed a small collection of camera's to further this love of seeing life through a photographer's eye.

I sew.  I quilt. I knit, crochet, cross stitch, and have even been known to tat once. I bake, but don't cook much. I do believe in Fairies, I do. I do. As a general rule I tend not to sing well, (unless I am alone in the car, then I am amazing!). I can however, whistle pretty good tune.  Learning to meditate without falling asleep is a recent goal. My fear of the dark and thunder storms has dissipated over the years, replaced by a love for them. I still enjoy walking in quiet night time snow storms, and listening to rain pound on the roof. I am active in my religion of choice. Yes. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love my Savior. I love diving in and swimming around in the scriptures, I am a budding scripture nerd. Being slightly overweight and finding myself in the youth of old age is an adjustment that is on going. I think positive affirmations, gratitude journal's, and looking for something beautiful in everyday are as necessary as air and water.

As for our animals, we are now down to two old, very fat cats, two young Shitzu-Reindeer Chihuahua's mix sister's, as well as the cute little new-Yorkie that hangs out at our house.

Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself to you.

       I am,

              Missy
